Dakhla - Dakar 04.05.2010
We carry on to the South and overfly again increadible landscape. Weather on this sector is no surprise and a light tailwind allow us to reach Dakar after less than 5 hours. We were thinking of calmly preparing ourselves the next day for our big ocean crossing, but no ! following advice from the Swiss Meteo Office which informs us that the ITZ activity seems to increase in the upcoming days, we decide to take off next morning at sunrise. Not a minute to loose, we start our preparation : 400 liters of Avgas per aircraft to load, oil level, cleaning and inspecting, cockpit organisation, survival equipment check, food and water stock, flight plan, custom and immigration, settling the bills, GPS update, study of WX situation, eating, sleeping (a little) and tomorrow… The adventure goes on !
